Hungarian residence permit types for working purpose
If staying in Hungary more than 90 days (counted within a 180-day period), a Third-country National has to obtain a residence permit in principle. For working purpose, there is a great variety of residence permits. The right or most convenient one depends on many factors, e.g. nature of the work, framework of the employment, qualification, salary amount, job position, duration of employment, etc.
In some cases, the third-country national individual (hereinafter: Individual) can chose from different types of residence permit to apply for when intending to work in Hungary.

For the purpose of Employment
General Conditions:
The legal relation between your Candidate and you will aim at employment.
Your Candidate will perform his/her work under your or your contracting partner's direction.
If your Candidate will be a CEO of your organisation, he will have working responsibilities beyond his/her CEO role.

has an employment contract with his/her Home Company,
keeps this employment contract for the entire duration of his/her assignment at the Host Company, and
the assignment at the Host Company is for a definite period.

Group of Companies means two or more Companies recognised as linked in the following ways:
A company, in relation to another company
directly or indirectly, holds a majority of that company's subscribed capital;
controls a majority of the votes attached to that company's issued share capital;
is entitled to appoint more than half of the members of that company's administrative, management or supervisory body; or
the companies are managed on a unified basis by the parent company.

General Conditions:
Your Candidate has a higher education degree.
His/her work requires the qualification acquired during his/her higher education studies.
His/her gross salary will be more than HUF 658,200 (circa EUR 1,700). In some job positions this salary amount can be lower.

How to calculate the six months within any 12 months period?
Both the number of days spent with seasonal work in the past and the days intended to spend with seasonal work in the future has to be taken into consideration. In any period that covers 12 months (e.g. covering both the past and the future) cannot include more days spent with seasonal work than 6 months.

For the purpose of Voluntary Service Activity
General Conditions:
Your Hungarian Organisation provides voluntary services in the public interest and your Candidate concludes a voluntary service agreement with you.
Your Candidate's work will be performed in the framework of the European Voluntary Service.

The primary aim of your Candidate's Hungarian stay is to be together with his/her family members but he/she wants to be employed too by your Hungarian Company.
Organisations who can employ Third-country National having Residence Permit for the purpose of Traineeship
Local Governments;
Minority Self-government (in its public functions specified in the Hungarian legal regulations);
Budgetary Institutions (in its core activity);
Ecclesiastical Legal Entity seated in Hungary (in its activities connnected to its operation, religion or public interest);
Organisations having strategic partnership agreement with the Hungarian Government (in terms of trainings specified in this partnership agreement).
