Residence Permit for the Purpose of Job-searching or Entrepreneurship in Hungary
General Description
Residence Permits for the Purpose of Job-searching or Entrepreneurship are for those third-country nationals, who are holding a Residence Permit for the Purpose of Study or Residence Permit for the Purpose of Research, their studies or researches are completed successfully and they want to remain in Hungary on the long-run in order to work for a Hungarian company or set-up their business in the country, however, they do not have a job offer or they have not started to register their Hungarian Company yet.
When can you apply for this residence permit type?
If you have third-country nationality only.
If you do not enter Hungary with or you do not join to an EEA citizen to whom you are considered a family member.
If you are holding a Residence Permit for the Purpose of Study and you successfully completed your higher education studies or you are holding a Residence Permit for the Purpose of Research and you successfully completed your research project.
If you want to remain in Hungary in order to be employed or set up a company in the country, however, you do not have a job offer or you have not registered your Hungarian company yet.
If you apply for this residence permit type at least 15 days before the expiry date of your current Residence Permit for the Purpose of Study or Residence Permit for the Purpose of Research.
If you are looking for a Hungarian job or you plan to set up a company, where your prospective activities are in line with your higher education studies or your research topic.
If three months after the issuance of this residence permit you cannot prove that you have a real chance to be employed or set up your Hungarian company, your issued Residence Permit for the Purpose of Job-search or Entrepreneurship is withdrawn by the Immigration Office (official name: National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing).

This type of residence permit cannot be renewed after nine months, because within this nine months you have to find a job or you have to register your company in Hungary. If you successfully find a job, you can obtain a Residene Permit for the Purpose of Employment or an EU Blue Card. If you register your company, one of these residence permit type or Residence Permit for the Pursuit of Gainful Activity might be applicable for you. By these new residence permit types you can secure your further legal stay in Hungary.

You have to apply for a new residence permit if at the time of the submisson of your residence permit application your current residence permit remains valid less than 30 days.
HUF 10,000, in case of a .
Your residence permit is extended if you submit your residence permit application at least 30 days before your current residence permit expires.
Citizens of Ukraine are exempt to pay the above-mentioned application fees.
Time period of decision-making:
The processing time can take up to 70 days, but in some cases it is not more than 15 days.
Rights:
Reside in Hungary in order to find a job or set up a Hungarian company.
Stay in another Schengen country up to 90 days within any 180 days period of time without obtaining a C-type Schengen visa (your passport and this issued residence permit is required when staying in this other Schengen country).
Obligations:
within three days (counted from the first day being in Hungary) and any further Hungarian address change.
The report has to be made in the Immigration Office on a prescribed form. This form has to be signed by your accommodation provider as well (if your Hungarian accommodation is not your own propoerty).
Report the birth of your child to the Immigration Office, if he/she was born in the territory of Hungary and has third-country nationality only.
Notify the Immigration Office if your Passport or your Residence Permit is stolen, lost or destroyed.
Inform the Immigration Office if your Passport or your Residence Permit that was believed to be lost (and this fact was reported to the Immigration Office) was finally found.
Hand in your Residence Permit to the Immigration Office within eight days, if it becomes invalid.

Deregistration
You have to fulfill a deregistratioin process if your residence permit becomes invalid (i.e., it expires, or you give up your Hungarian stay earlier than the residence permit's expiry date, or the conditions underlying the issuance of your residence permit has ceased to exist). As part of this process, your residence permit has to be handed over to the competent directorate of the Immigration Office. In case of a residence permit extension, the old residence permit has to be handed over to the Immigration Office at the same time, when the new one is collected (in this case our deregistration service below is not necessary).
